These are some of the strategies my teacher told me to have in an effective argumentative essay...
1. Read newspapers and other such type of essays so as to know the tactics and way of expressing your views without offending the reader because the person checking your copy might have a different outlook on the topic.
2. Have a better knowledge about the topic and what you are writing.
3. You must give proper justifications for the points you are expressing.
4. If you are writing "against" then have one para for "for" and vice versa.
5. In the end give a conclusion basing upon your thoughts linking to the points you have noted down.
Your essay is complete.
