State the Snell s laws of refraction of light. b. A prism deviates a monochromatic ray of light through an angle when the angle of incidence on the surface of the prism is i : i) Draw a graph showing the variation of with i . On your graph show the angle of minimum deviation. ii) What is the relation between the angle of incidence and the angle of emergence when the ray suffers minimum deviation? c. The frequency of violet light is 7.5 x 1014 Hz. Find its wavelength in Ao. Speed of light c = 3 x 108 m/s. d. A ray of light PQ is incident normally on the face AB of an equilateral glass prism. Complete the ray diagram showing its emergence into air after passing through the prism. Take critical angle for glass = 42o. 1
