Independence of Judiciary is ensured by following ways:
REMOVAL OF JUDGES: The judges of any court can be removed only on the grounds of 'proved misbehavior' and 'incapacity'.Also, the process of impeachment (removal) is very harsh one, making it difficult to remove judges anytime.
SALARIES OF THE JUDGES; The salary of any judge can not be changed unless in case of emergency. Thier salaries are charged from the Consolidated Fund of India and so are not suject to vote of Parliament.
PROHIBITION ON PRACTICE AFTER RETIREMENT: The judges are not allowed to work after thier retirement because they may influence the other judges or be obliged to someone during thier practice.
PUNISH FOR THE CONTEMPT OF THE COURT: The Supreme Court can punish anyone for the contempt of the court if a person tries to make an attempt to lower its authority.
