ART PAPER 1 Drawing or Painting from Still Life (Maximum Marks: 100) (Time allowed: Three hours) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INSTRUCTIONS This paper is for the use of the Supervising Examiner only, in consultation with the Art Teacher. Attention is directed to the syllabus and to the Standing Instructions as given in the syllabus book. The Supervising Examiner is asked to ensure that the candidate s unique identification number (UID) and index number in that order, are written clearly in the top right-hand corner of the front surface of the paper. It may prove impossible to give marks for the work unless the unique identification number (UID) and index number are legible. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Any one of the two alternatives set below may be selected. A. Objects Required: A step ladder. A large glass jar. Assorted size painting brushes. Three or four large tubes of acrylic paint. A mug of water. A crumpled cloth rag. Arrangement: Place the step ladder against the wall. Using this as a back drop, place the brushes inside the jar and arrange the tubes of paint, rag and the mug of water to make a suitable composition. All the items can be placed on a board or table in front of the ladder. OR B. Objects Required: A few flowers/leaves. A vase. A hard-bound book. A length of satin cloth. Arrangement: Arrange the flowers in the vase. Keep the half opened upturned book in front and to one side of the vase.
