Can anybody explain what is hit and trail method and hit and error method which arent mentioned in my text...guys how do we have to split the middle term of a quadratic equation if the product which we get from end terms is quite high ?? like if the product is 1800 or something like that

For solving quadratic equations, to find out the square root can we use the tables book or should we use division method of finding square root??
