In ordinary compilation the source code is directly converted into machine or object code using an interpreter or a compiler .In Java compilation into an the source code is first converted into an intermediate code called the byte code. The byte code is then interpreted using Java Runtime System called the JVM and finally execuded . The object code generated in ordinary compilation is machine dependent whereas the byte code generated in java compilation is machine independent.
