This question paper contains five Sections- A, B, C, D and E. 2. Section A contains questions 1 to 20 carrying one mark each. Answer to these questions may be given in one word or a sentence. 3. Section B contains 21 to 25 carrying three marks each. Answer to these questions may be given in 50 to 70 words. 4. Section C contains 26 to 28 carrying four marks each. Answer to these questions may be given in about 120 words. 5. Section D contains questions 29 to 31 carrying five marks each. Answer to these questions may be given in 150 words. 6. Section E contains questions 32 to 34 carrying six marks each. Answer to these questions may be given in about 200 words. 7. There is no over all choice in the question paper, however an internal choice has been provided in 1 question of three marks, 1 question of four marks, 2 questions of five marks and 2 questions of six marks. You have to attempt only one of the choices in such questions. SECTION A 1. Gaurav filed a case against 'Star Ltd.' in the State commission. You are a marketing manager in a company engaged in manufacturing of mobile phones. The firm is launching new range of smart phones in the market. Being a marketing management expert the task if branding has been assigned to you. What characteristics of a good brand name you will keep in mind while finalising the brand name for the product? Discuss any three such characteristics. Also state two advantages of branding that will be enjoyed by your firm. (5) 30. Discuss the importance of controlling function of management. (5) 31. Explain Maslow's Need Hierarchy theory of motivation with the help of suitable examples. (5) SECTION E 32. Explain the importance of consumer protection from the point of view of business. (6) 33. Name and explain with a suitable example the technique of Scientific Management given by Taylor to differentiate between the efficient and the inefficient workers. (6) 34. Give a comparative overview of the various elements of delegation. (6) Or Explain the redressal mechanism available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 1986. XXX
