CONTROLLING MEANING OF CONTROLLING The process through which managers assure that the activities and results are in conformity with the planned activities and results. It provides proper direction to work in conformity with the plan of action or predetermined standards. Controlling serves the purpose of finding out deficiencies in performance and rectify them so as to prevent their recurrence. NATURE OF CONTROLLING Action oriented: the essence of control lies in the corrective action taken to bridge the gap between standards and actual performance. It does not control the rights of the individual Measurement : Actual performance with standard or desired performance. It is a process of checking and verification.
