Read the passage given below: (20 (8marks) 1. Sariska National Park is wildlife sanctuary, located at a distance of 107 km from Jaipur. The park possesses historical monuments and temples, which depicts the legacy of the Maharajas of Alwar. The park is bigger than Ranthambore but has a similar topography. Though this sanctuary doesn t have many tigers yet, many wild animals dwell on the grounds of the park. Apart from other carnivores and herbivorous, you can also trace Rhesus Monkeys, which can usually be seen playing tricks upon each other around the Tad Vriksh(palm tree). The park also shelters many different species of birds including Bush Quails, Tree pies, Golden backed Woodpeckers, crested Serpent Eagle and Great Indian Horned Owls. Animal lovers would definitely love this place, as it will offer them some of the best scenes to remember. The best place to spot wildlife is at the waterholes where animals come to satisfy their thirst. You can trace hundreds of birds at the Kalighati Waterhole and Nilagai can be spotted at the Salupka water holes. 2. Saliserh lake is another attraction which is inhabited by crocodiles on the edge of the sanctuary. You would find innumerable monkeys and langurs all over the park engaged in various activities. The Kankwadi Fort, that has a long chaotic history, is also worth visiting. According to one of the beliefs, here Dara Shikoh was imprisoned by Aurangzeb. Bharathari is another place which is named after Raja Bharathari of Ujjain who took Samadhi in this holy place. Devotees from all over Rajasthan come to this place on the 8th of sukla-paksha of Bhadon month. Sariska Palace is also worth a visit, which has been converted into a heritage hotel. Besides all this, you can visit the Pandupol , a place where Bhima adjusted a stick in the rock face of a cliff to make a pathway. You can also opt for jeep safaris which are easily available to explore the National Reserve. Sariska National Park is an enthralling sanctuary, where you can visit the rich heritage sites and enjoy the beauty of natural world. Based on your reading of the passage answer the following Questions: 1. Where is Sariska national Park located? 2. What does the park possess? 3. What animals and birds does the park have? 4. Respiratory diseases like bronchial asthma, bronchitis and recurrent sore throat are on the increase due to the rising pollution of the air caused by, increase in automobiles and industries. Asthma which is a serious health hazard and so far is considered incurable can be now effectively cured by combining acupuncture, acupressure and Yoga. 2.Asthama is accompanied by attacks of breathlessness, associated with cough and wheezing of the chest and sometimes it may be so acute as to be life threatening. Asthma is caused mostly due to an allergy to dust, pollen from the flowers or certain foodstuffs. In many cases it runs in the family and may be seen right from the childhood. During change of seasons(near Holi and Diwali) the asthma attacks get precipitated, perhaps due to the high allergic factors in the air. 3.Acupuncture and acupressure both work by regulating the negative and popular energy flow in the body and thereby pre-establishing their equilibrium. 4.Today even modern medicine accepts that the stimulation of acupuncture points releases biochemicals which have a bronchodilator effect and bring immediate relief in asthmatic conditions. Acupuncture increases body resistance, that is, it enhances immunity, making the lungs less sensitive to allergic factors. Therefore, acupuncture brings about a lasting cure and does not give just temporary relief. 5.Acupressure is also effective in treating asthma. Acupressure is a large term that includes feet and hand reflexology as well as other pressure techniques like Shiatsu. Reflexology works on the principle that the reflexes of the entire body are mirrored on the feet and hands. By applying thumb and finger pressure on these reflex points the corresponding points/parts of the body can be stimulated merely to the affected part(the principle of Shiasthu pressure technique) bringing about an effect similar to reflexology. 6.Acupressure is a do-it-yourself therapy and the patient can be taught how to press the acupressure points on the foot and hand and body corresponding to the disease. A nonmedico can learn how to do acupressure for different ailments in a few days, because it is simple technique. 2. A. Answer the following questions in about 30-40 words each.
