Each question should be answered in about thirty (30) words and each carries five (5) marks. (5x5=25 marks) (5) (30) (5) (5x5=25 ) Read the following para and answer the questions : The colonial and semi-colonial countries, which have liberated themselves from direct political subjugation of the advanced imperialist countries, and which are trying to reshape their backward economy, feudal and semi-feudal social structure and traditional authoritarian culture on the basis of capitalist mixed economy postulates, constitute the underdeveloped societies. What is significant for our theme is that these underdeveloped societies are consciously making a sustained effort to develop their economy, polity, social framework and cultural matrix on an unprecedented scale. They are coming on the stage of world history, not as passive objects of change, but as active subjects elaborating goals, plans and directions of development and striving to realise the goals and plans by mobilising millions in this endeavour. Whether the capitalist path pursued by the politically dominant group is correct and whether the mixed economy, which is being elaborated, will be capable of overcoming under-development may be questioned. But the fact that all underdeveloped societies are now wedded to rapid change is a novel feature of our time. D 0506 3 P.T.O. l - S # , - S , - - S S M S , , S , cR S M , , , m - S , - , 1.
