All questions are compulsory. 2. The question paper consists of 30 questions in sections A, B, C & D. 3. Section A comprises of 6 questions of 1 mark each, Section B comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each, Section C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each and Section D comprises of 8 questions of 4 marks each. SECTION A [1 6=6] 1) The abscissa of the point P is 3 and the ordinate of the same point P is the cube of the abscissa. Find the measure of CBE. 10) The radius of a sphere is reduced by 50%, then find the ratio of the surface area of the original sphere to the new sphere. 11) The daily cost of milk supplied to 25 houses in a locality are given below: Cost in ` 40-50 50-60 60-70 70-80 80-90 90-100 No. of houses 4 5 3 5 2 6 If one of the houses is chosen at random, find the probability that (i) the milk bill of the house is less than `70. (ii) the milk bill of the house is atleast `70. 12) A solid sphere of diameter 24cm is melted and recast into smaller cones of radius 3cm and height 6 cm. Find the number of cones so formed. OR Construct a triangle PQR in which Q = 45o, QR=4.5cm and PQ PR = 2.5 cm. 18) Prove that the equal chords of a circle subtend equal angles at the center. 19) In ABC, D is the mid point of AB. (ii) Write the nature of the graphical representation of this equation. OR The parking charges of a car in a mall for first two hours is `50 and `10 for subsequent hours. (i) Frame a linear equation in two variables and express it in the form ax + by + c = 0. (ii) Without drawing a graph, a) Find the charges for parking a car for 4 hours b) If `100 is the total charge find the time for which the car was parked. 24)If x 3 ax 2 bx 6 has ( x - 2 ) as a factor and leaves a remainder 3 when divided by (x - 3), then find the values of a and b . Perpendiculars are drawn at M and N to intersect at X. (i) How many circles will pass through the points P, Q and R? (ii) If one such circle passes through P, Q and R, identify the center of this circle. Justify. (iii) What type of quadrilateral is XMPN? Justify. 29) The volume of a cuboid is x 3 13x 2 32x 20 cubic units and its height is (x+1) units. Find the length and breadth of the cuboid.
