Introduction This document provides a guide to students who have completed their 10th grade and are looking forward to seek admission into pre university course or 11th and 12th grade. What are the options available? There are multiple options to select post the 10th grade. They are classified into three major streams. There are other branches where students can get a Diploma in a subset of fields related to engineering. Admission to diploma courses starts after the PU admissions are over What after studies? How admission process works? There are multiple colleges in and around Bangalore. The Pre university board managed by the Karnataka government is responsible for conducting the exams which will be the gateway for higher education. The list of recognized colleges can be found in the attachment enclosed. It is the responsibility of the students and parents to ensure that the college is recognized before they admit their children RecognisedColleges. pdf The PU Calendar is issued by the department of Pre university board. The calendar for the year 2015 is given below for reference. The application forms are distributed only for 5 days after the SSLC results are announced. May 18 Last date to issue applications. Forms are issued only for 5 days after the SSLC results are Step 1: SSLC results announced announced May 23 Last date to receive filled applications Step 2 : Step 1 + 5 days May 26 Roster-wise list of merit candidates Step 3: Step 1 + 8 days May 27 First list of selected students Step 4: 9th Day after SSLC results are announced May 30 Last date to pay admission fee for those selected in first list Step 5: 12th Day after SSLC results are announced June 5 Second list of candidates June 9 Last date to pay fees for those selected in second list June 13 Third list of students June 15 Commencement of PU I classes June 17 Last date to pay fees for those selected in third list June 22 Announcement of list of students admitted by paying fees and announcement of cut-off percentages June 25 If there are seats available, last date for selected students to pay fees June 27 Final list of total students admitted to the college and admission without penal fee June 28-July 5 Admission by paying late fee of Rs504 July 6-13 Special admission with late fee of Rs1,680 + Rs504 August 8 Last date for those who have passed in SSLC supplementary exams to get admission to PU courses without penal fee This year it is believed that the SSLC results are likely to be announced in the first week of May so be prepared to collect the forms. Expect huge queues in colleges.
