THE MERCHANT OF VENICE 10 ICSE ACT III SCENE 3 SUMMARY POINTS: 1.Sylock also mentions that to show no mercy to Antonio. 2.Shylock keeps a jailor to watch Antonio as he should not escape. 3.Before,he sworn an oath that he will act according to his bond and he also recalls his insults , calling shylock a Dog . 4.He also says that how can I be foolish of living you out of the cell you Prisoner . 5. According to Shylock words Antonio is referred as a Prisoner. 6.Anotonio is helpless and he would like Shylock to forgive him. 7.In the beginning of the Bond story , Antonio was in a sad mood but now at the end also he is in a sad and helpless. 8.Shylock does not want to listen to Antonio s words as he don t want to miss this rare chance of taking revenge on Antonio. 9.Salanio enters and says that he is the most stubborn dog that I have ever met among humans. 10.Antonio wants to stop begging Shylock and states the reason why Shylock hates me. 11.He hates me because I ve given money to those people who was unable to pay his debts. 12.Salanio says that duke will never enforce his contract. 13.By saying this lines Salanio wanted Antonio to comfort him. 14.Antonio knowing the Policy of Merchants says that he ll follow the bond because the reasons are stated below: (i)It would threaten the foreign Merchants in Venice. (ii) This is how the merchants in Venice make their money. (iii)And it will be a great losses to other merchants like Antonio. (iv)And Antonio further says that he don t want this to happen because of him. 15.And he further says for my one pound of flesh they should not be more loses. 16.Antonio keeps trust on Bassanio and says I wish Bassanio come and pay his debts and we saying Goodbye to the Jew and give an end to this case. 17.Antonio still hates Shylock even when he was found struck in the Shylock s clutches. 18.Shylock shows his hatrednes by saying the jailor show no mercy and don t let him out. 19.Antonio at the beginning of the play asked Shylock to give a loan of Three Thousand Ducats. But, at this scene 20.Antonio is begging for forgiveness to Shylock. 21.This completely states there is reversal of fortunes to Antonio.
