Q1) With the help of a diagram, describe the construction of an air-lift bioreactor. State the situations in which an air-lift bioreactor is used and explain the advantages of an air-lift bioreactor over a conventional CSTR. [16] OR Describe the production of Rifamycin. Delineate the critical operating parameters for Rifamycin production. Q2) Attempt any two of the following : [16] a) With help of a suitable example, explain the batch mode of operation of fermentation process.
