Good morning.
Today is the day, for which we have been toiling for entirety of high school, the day for which we had to write a few more preparatory examinations than usual, the day for which we had kept all the distractions at bay, the day we are waiting for. Today, the board examination begins.
We make a tryst with destiny today. This is our final stand. I know you all are tired of bloody training examinations filled with failures and PTM's, but this is the last one. Beyond this there lies freedom and glory. You shall gain the marks that you never could. Let's march along, Resmates: for every examination we have attempted will not matter much now, as the result of this battle is all that matters. After this, you shall be free, at least for long enough to chill.

Have a nice sleep people, and go face your exam with the confidence that you know everything. Go make Wren and Martin feel inferior, and let Shakespeare wriggle in his grave! Onwards!

And yes, as the clichè goes:
Rip through that paper!!!

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy" ~Hamlet, William Shakespeare

Hi everyone, I haven't been very active on the Q&A but I hope you will accept my best wishes. They come from a place of goodwill, and to a greater extent, nostalgia. My ICSE days are tinted with memories of daylight worries and midnight chats. They are tinted with varied shades of love, of camaraderie forged amidst the worries of exams, and the ever-increasing weight of expectations. They are tinted with fun and frolic but most importantly, they are tinted with friendship. I don't remember the hours(in my case, minutes ;)) spent poring over textbooks but I do remember the inside jokes and the easy familiarity. I do so now, and I know I always will.

This is to tell you that yes, books and academics do have their place in life. They serve to instill discipline and build a scientific temper. They strengthen critical-thinking skills too. BUT, there is more to life, much more, than this ICSE shaped, Council administered misery.

This is not to encourage carelessness or worse, indifference. This is to assure you that even though scores matter, they are NOT the be-all and end-all of your existence.

You are human, with all your muscles and your bones, with all your sinews, with all your messy blood and your catastrophic mind, and that is enough to dazzle. That your body even works, that you get to walk this tiny, beautiful mote of dust, that you may slip, and still survive, is magnificence manifested.

You, oh you, you are magic itself. You, and the world, entwined for life, in this all-consuming passionate love affair. The question is not of the next exam but the next chance at redemption. The next opportunity to prove that you do deserve the world, that you are not an unequal partner but an independent entity, capable of taking responsibility and showing agency, of controlling the winds to your favour, of walking the oceans, of doing the impossible.

A little change is always for the better. I hope you agree and give your best tomorrow. No matter what the outcome is, be an adventurer, not a tourist. It is not the destination that matters but the journey. ALWAYS.

And remember, no matter how much you think you know, there is always someone who knows more.

All the best. May the odds be ever in your favour! :)
