As it is given in total history : Loss of sovereignty of muslim rulers Communal Hatred and Relative Backwardness of Muslims in Trade and industry and bla bla...
Dont write these points if the question is asked the  "causes or factors leading to formation of muslim league "
Instead write the points mentioned under events leading to formation of muslim like aligarh politics hindu urdu controversy cause those are the main reason/causes/factors for formation of muslim league....
I have two sources to espouse this :-
1) i checked in pupils analysis and found that "factors leading to muslim league shud actually the events one mentioned in total his"
2)You can check APC 
3)I gave an external mock exam where i discovered this....
