Hello you crazy people! So what's up? (don't reply "sky" or I'll personally come to thrash you xD) You know, life has strange ways. I just woke up from a power nap(Don't judge: I DO power naps xD), and my mind was like," Hey idiot! Remember a place which brought you face to face with your crazier side?" And I was instantly reminded of this helluva place, where I made friends...nah! Who am I kidding? You're not my friends..... You guys are family. Okay. Emotions aside (phew!), I was so lost in my life till now, that I had (almost) forgotten about this place. And you might think I knew that yesterday was results day, but honestly, I didn't. It was to my great amazement that I saw people posting their percentage on qa. I didn't get to know about the results, 'cause I had been away from Internet for a while, and woke so late today, that I didn't read that thing called the newspaper. So you can imagine my excitement when I got to know about this. To each and everyone who passed, great! To everyone who scored above 70%, great! To everyone who scored above 80%, great! To everyone who scored above 90%, great! To everyone who scored above 100%, okay. Now THAT is not great, 'cause you don't deserve that kind of a score if you don't know percentages are never more than 100 xD. Seriously, it might sound offensive to some, but I don't want to speak anything but truth. Its GREAT and WONDERFUL that some of you guys got soooooo many marks, but let's face it: It really doesn't matter. I've spent one whole year with that Marksheet, and frankly speaking, I've had a better relationship with my tablecloth: at least people see it when they come to my room! That marksheet brought home only few opportunistic guests to my home, the day after the results, and forced me to run to the shop to buy snacks for them. All work, and no play! Then, it brought me a teeny-tiny bit of pseudo-respect from some godforsaken people, and that's it. Since then, it's lying in a file, with some other useless certificates: surrounded, yet secluded. To say it in the language of Ross(from FRIENDS) : We are on a break!! My motive here, though, is not to take anything away from your success. You deserve all tha accolades you will get. But I want you guys to learn something more from this. I want you to have a greater sense of achievement: This was probably the first public exam that you RIPPED apart!!!!! And even if you didn't live up to your expectations, I want you to feel proud: proud that you made through one of the toughest boards. And even if you scored high, I want you to remain modest: modest because this is the first, and not the last of all the many challenges you'll face. To put it in perspective: You have your 12th boards (if you are not pursuing Medical/Engineering, 'cause the latter should really not give a rat's sh*t about boards, and focus on better exams), your Competitive exams, and more importantly: Life. Life is the biggest challenge you'll face, but also the easiest if you have the right attitude. You'll land in situations which will test you better than just cramming some random king's birthdate. They will test your soul. And I want to clarify: I'm not being pessimistic. I am being realistic. I am one of those, who wouldn't wonder whether the glass is half empty or half full. I would just pick it up and drink. And that's the best thing to do! Don't thing life is good or life is bad: Just embrace it for what it is! Okay. Enough preaching like a yogi, let's come to business. I think many of you must be confused about the future. If you are, then let me in on the confusion, because hey! I was too in a place like you! So, keep celebrating no matter what the result was. Make it a point to party HARDER than the dumb city(shitty) topper who is still crying about that one mark. Live life KING size, even if you think you are the rat troubling the king. xD And a very important query in public interest: Yashaswini, what was your English score???? Count your blessings guys! Ta-ta!! P.S. : A cool quote which I feel fits somehow: "Life is short: Smile while you still have teeth :)" |
