In the laboratory preparation of Ammonia its written " A higher ratio by weight of the alkali used may counter act the loss by sublimation of ammonium chloride on heating in the solid state . " Here i think the Ammonium chloride due to sublimation has its qty decreased so shouldnt it be used more instead of alkali ? Can explain the reason and if my understanding is correct . P.S --> Its given in Viraf Dalal pg 179 if needed . Thanks ! . |
