Hi guys I am would like to suggest some tips for ur geography exam
Toposheets
1.figure grid question is compulsory.
2.have a look on all the symbols and know what they indicate.
3.learn to determine the direction of flow of river.
4.to find direct distance(using scale)and indirect distance using the tag
Maps
Take river map once mark all the rivers physical features etc in one map by seeing and practice all the features without seeing make sure u revise once thoroughly before going to the centre.
1.make sure u shade blue to the river maps.
2.note the direction of South West monsoon and North East winds.
3.don't mess the map with ur markings make sure it's neat and clear.Mark only what is asked.
Section II
The textbook has around 15 chapters but according to ICSE syllabus there are only 9 chapters.
The chapters are:
1.climate of India
2.soils in India.
3.Natural vegetation of India
4.Water resources.
5.Minerals in India
6.Agriculture in India
7.Agro based industries.
8.Industries in India.
9.Transport and waste management...
Every chapter carries 10 marks, which means every chapter is set into a question(question 3 to question11).so u can skip a minimum of four chapters.but make sure u learn other chapters perfectly.even if u want to skip chapters skip the part completely from the above given 1to 9. Don't read here and there from every chapter then you'll be getting nothing.u can also check this with your previous year papers..
2. Don't prepare for any long answer questions bcoz maximum u may get a 3 marker.
3.in these two days revise all the places as many times as possible so that u at any cost shouldnt forget it.
******* important********
1.go through the analysis of pupil performance (geography section)
2.don't go through all the crap given in the textbook ,read only what is given in syllabus (which u can find at the beginning of every chapter in your textbook or u can also find it in www.cisce.org.)
Reading this suggestion is not only important but following it is very important make sure u follow it who follows it will only be successful...........
All the best to all ICSE aspirants!!!!!!
