His parents are very proud that he has achieved this, as he is following the same career path as his father. Peter had actually wanted to teach music or maybe even play professionally in an orchestra. However, his parents had disapproved, telling him that he would never make a good living that way, so he followed their advice and even managed to convince himself that he enjoyed his course at university. Peter has always been a quiet individual, happy to spend a lot of time on his own, practising the cello, though he does have a small circle of close friends. He is having problems settling in his new job. He finds the work difficult and is very anxious about making mistakes. He finds he is suffering from headaches a lot. When he thinks about the future he just can t imagine that he ll ever be fulfilled and happy doing this type of work. It has got to the stage that Peter is finding it difficult to sleep at night and he can hear his heart pounding as he drives to work. He knows that he should talk to someone about how he is feeling but he does not want to worry his family or friends and he has not really got to know any of his new colleagues well enough to confide in someone at work. She is extremely weak and her periods have stopped, but she still feels sick even thinking about food. During the first year at university she had to give up her course and return home because of her illness, which was affecting her ability to concentrate. In some ways this was a relief for her because she was afraid of failure both her parents are lecturers at a local university and Sarah has always worried that she would fail to live up to their expectations educationally. It is four years since Sarah s parents became worried that she was avoiding having meals with her family. They began finding remnants of meals hidden around the house. Sarah started claiming that she had eaten at friends houses, which turned out to be untrue when they checked it out. Even after considerable weight loss, Sarah still complained about looking fat. At first Sarah was complimented when she lost weight, but later when her friends and family expressed concern, Sarah would not accept that she was too thin. Sarah s Mum and sister felt a bit guilty about teasing her about her puppy fat when she was 12 or 13, but her Mum thinks that her eating disorder is more to do with Sarah s obsession with the world of fashion.
