By the time she was 33, Wendy had twin boys and was very happy but, about a year after the children were born, she developed swelling and pain in her joints and she found that she was exhausted all the time. Wendy was diagnosed with the chronic disease rheumatoid arthritis and when it was at its worst she couldn t walk at all. Medication has improved her condition but she still suffers from pain in her muscles and joints. Wendy felt unable to work and manage the children, so she made the decision to stay at home. Now that the twins are at school she quite often feels lonely, bored and even a bit useless.
