Sp N ec ew i ca tio n ADVANCED SUBSIDIARY (AS) General Certi cate of Education 2010 Music Unit 1: Sequenced Arrangement Task [AU114] FOR SUBMISSION 10th MAY 2010 PRE-RELEASE STIMULUS MATERIAL 6226 AS Music Sequenced Arrangement Task Set stimulus September 2009 For submission 10th May 2010 Use the following melody and chords to create a sequenced arrangement 1 1 lasting 12 to 22 minutes. The sequenced arrangement must have at least four independent parts. Candidates have a free choice in the following aspects of the arrangement: Style Instruments/patches/sounds Key Metre Tempo Dynamics Texture If appropriate to the choice of style, candidates are permitted to make slight alterations to the melody, harmony and/or rhythm [but are strongly advised to keep the melody as recognisable as possible]. In order for the arrangement to meet the required time constraints, candidates should give consideration to the overall form and structure. For instance, if appropriate, sections of the stimulus might be repeated, or a brief introduction or coda might be added. Submissions outside of the required durations will be penalised. Candidates and teachers are reminded that they are required to sign the of cial Statement of Authenticity form in relation to the work submitted.
